Gale

Hi Ayanna:
I thoroughly enjoyed your story about your mother and grandmother(s). I am a Granderson born in the US and my roots are in Trinidad. I had an Uncle Albert who was my Grandfather, Henry's first cousin. I believe that your mother, Gale may be my second cousin. Do you have an Uncle Michael Albert? Your mother looks a lot like Michael. If so, then we are definitely related! I have a brother Michael Alan who lived with Michael Albert when they were both attending Howard University in Washington, DC. I readily identified with your story because I saw similar attributes being handed down within our family as well. The love for music and the cultural arts was pervasive in our home. I grew up in Queens, New York, as did my cousins, Arnim and his family. My grandfather was Henry A. Granderson, Sr. and his wife was Violet. My father his Henry A. Granderson, Jr. and he is a first generation American. Please write me back to let me know more about you and your family. Your writing is exquisite. Thanks for sharing.

Hi Ayanna, I am Wanda Granderson's friend. We work together! I am also from Trinidad and attended BAHS. I recognized your mom's picture! She was one of my prefects! My maiden name is Arlene Barbra Henry! What a small world!
